Land Rover Ninety / One Ten / 127 2.5 diesel (12J): injector test & service

Fuel & air · Ninety / One Ten / 127 (1983–90) · 1984–1990

How often: every 36,000 mi or 3 yrs, whichever comes first. Worn injectors cause smoke and, on the Diesel Turbo, hot spots on the pistons.

Work safely: support the vehicle on axle stands, never a jack alone; let it cool first. Check figures against your workshop manual. You do this work at your own risk.

Parts
  • 4 × Injector washers & heat-shield seals
  • 4 × Injector test & reset (specialist, if needed) (specialist)

Step by step

  1. Clean around the injectors before removal.
  2. Remove and have them tested and reset by a diesel specialist.
  3. Refit with new washers, bleed and check for leaks.
