Range Rover Velar P400e plug-in hybrid: underbody & corrosion check

Body & chassis · Range Rover Velar (2017 on) · 2021 on

How often: every year. Subframes, brake pipes and (on the Discovery 3/4 and Sport L320) the steel frame corrode in salty winters.

Work safely: support the vehicle on axle stands, never a jack alone; let it cool first. Check figures against your workshop manual. You do this work at your own risk.

Parts
  • Cavity wax / underbody protection
Tools
  • Torch
  • Pressure washer

Step by step

  1. Wash the underside, then check the subframes, frame rails, brake and fuel pipes, and the rear arches.
  2. Treat any bare metal and re-wax cavities.
